Richard Moir

Understandably, most of our beneficiaries prefer to remain anonymous. However, Richard Moir, writer, actor, producer, director and best known for his role in the children’s series, Round the Twist, is happy for us to share his story.
At  40 years of age, Richard was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and thereafter, also experienced a number of other major health issues.  Fortunately, VABT has consistently been able to support Richard with some of his expensive medical costs and emergency needs and in some small way relieve the financial stress of the situation.
Recently, when the need arose for Richard to undergo a total knee replacement, VABT was able to assist with some of the out of pocket expenses.
The operation was successful and this has had a very positive impact on Richard's health.  Richard is immensely grateful for the support of the VABT and knows that the charity can only continue to sustain itself through the generosity of benefactors and volunteers.
Richard has now started to move into writing and producing and is currently working on a documentary called Fireball about his dear friend and fellow actor Reg Evans and partner, Angela, who both perished in the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.
